TYPES OF VISION CORRECTION PROCEDURES

In all vision correction procedures, an excimer laser is used to reshape the cornea's curvature to correct the refractive errors including myopia, hypermetropia, and astigmatism. The differences in the type of procedure are mainly in the machine used, and the recovery period.

Standard Ultralasik

When it comes to vision correction, no other procedure has proven to be as effective as Ultralasik. It is the most common vision correction procedure as well.

There are many benefits to UltraLasik.  First, combined with the advanced custom technology, UltraLasik is a very precise procedure, leading to very satisfactory results in short time.

Another great benefit of UltraLasik is that it is a quick and easy procedure. The entire UltraLasik procedure takes less than 10 minutes to complete. And, because UltraLasik is an outpatient procedure, you can return home the same day as of your procedure. Recovery time is also quick and easy. Most patients report feeling back to their normal selves within a 3 hours.

It can be done with CustomVue treatments for more precision especially for people with higher prescriptions or astigmatism.

Laser/non-touch laser/ Transprk

This procedure is done completely by laser. Having similar results to Ultralasik, the main difference between both procedures is the recovery time. Most patients can report back to work after 3 days from he procedure.

Custom Lasik/Laser:

Custom LASIK/laser involves measuring the eye from front to back with a special laser, using what's called "wavefront" technology, to create a three-dimensional (3-D) image of the eye. The information contained in the wavefront-map guides the laser in customizing the treatment to your individual visual system. It provides higher precision for lower refractive errors as well as for astigmatism and/or higher prescriptions.

Lasik / Laser Xtra

Lasik Xtra™ is a LASIK/Laser procedure enhanced with an add-on corneal strengthening procedure (cross-linking). During LASIK, the excimer laser thins the cornea in order to correct refractive errors like myopia and astigmatism. Hence, higher degrees of spectacle power correction result in proportionately thinner corneas. Rarely, thin and weakened corneas may progressively bulge forward, a condition called corneal ectasia. LASIK Xtra™ is postulated to reduce this risk by strengthening the cornea.

Refractive lens exchange (RLE) : for near vision correction

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE), is a procedure that involves using an intraocular lens (IOL) to correct refractive errors and improve vision . RLE is performed primarily to reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses especially for people over the age of 40 who have difficulty for reading near objects (presbyopia)
RLE can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. RLE provides permanent vision correction.

PRESBYOND LASIK/LASER

PRESBYOND is the way of vision correction for treating patients with presbyopia that aims to achieve clear sight at all distances, near, distance and intermediate. Presbyond lasik provides temporary results that can last 3 to 5 years

* Disclaimer : Not all kinds of procedures will be suitable for everyone! Your doctor will advise you the suitable technology based on the refractive error of your eyes and the shape of the cornea
